Back in those heady days of the Apollo program, all sorts of vehicles were being considered for travel on the lunar surface. They eventually decided on the 4-wheel car we've all seen, but one of the contenders was this 2-wheel battery powered scooter seen here undergoing micro-gravity testing aboard the modified KC-135 Stratotanker, better known as the "Vomit Comet".
(Yes, technically this is not a sub-50cc engine, but it's in the same power class, and I already did at least one steam engine. And now, back to gasoline, and the sweet smell of burning castor oil.)
