I'd never heard of Lusuardi before, but I recently discovered this great web site on 50cc road racing motorcycles, with photos and information on dozens of bikes. Claudio Lusuardi was a champion 50cc road racer who won the Italian Championship in 1974 and 1975, and then temporarily retired from racing to develop racing bikes. As he worked alone, without sponsorship from a major company, his aluminum chassis bikes carried the name Lusuardi. Later, after a brief return to racing, he worked with Team Italia and Cagiva, and eventually retired from all racing activity and opened a Ducati dealership.
