Derringer Cycles

How about a 49cc moped with the styling of a 1930s board track motorcycle? The Derringer is a new moped-class bike that may look like an ordinary bicycle with one of those cheap Chinese bolt-on engines, but this is a carefully thought out package with a real 49cc Honda-made 4-stroke engine designed for mini-generators:

There's a lot about the Derringer that's well thought out. A custom tank, special handlebars, a large rear centrifugal clutch, a leather saddle- this is certainly worth checking out. The only downside is the price- around $3500. Cheap for sculpture, but a lot for a 49cc moped. You can get a pretty decent motorcycle or scooter for that much.

If you'd still like to check these bikes out in person, you can visit Derringer Cycles at 7954 ½ W. 3rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90048. The rest of us will have to be satisfied with checking them out on line.
