1951 Vespa V5A

Back in the 1950s, Vespa introduced their first 50cc bikes, aimed at those European countries that allowed unlicensed drivers to ride bikes 50cc and under on public roads. These bikes came with 3-speed transmissions, which made them pretty peppy. According to sources I read, some came with pedals, too- more to meet the moped regulations of some countries than for any practical purpose.

I love the style of this bike- and of all Vespas, really. My Yamaha may be a fine riding scooter but it doesn't come close where style in concerned.
