There are a ton of mini-moto anfd pocket bikes being sold, which leaves me wondering exactly where they're all being used? It's illegal to run them on the street, and they're useless for offroad use. But there is one practical use- minimoto racing!
Turns out there's a growing group of racers who have a blast doing laps indoors on these kid-sized bikes! Speeds are reasonable, the bikes don't weigh much, and when you crash, you don't have very far to go! It's safe, it's thrilling, and gosh it all, it looks hilarious. There are a great many sanctioning organizations (here, for example) in the US as well as in other countries, with racing classes for everything from $200 Chinese bikes that produce maybe 2HP,up through custom multi-kilobuck European race bikes that can put our 11HP or more.
